Hong Kong Financial Secretary Paul Chan highlighted the role of Blockchain and artificial intelligence (AI) in digital finance at the APEC Finance Ministers' Conference, calling for responsible innovation to protect investors and maintain financial stability. He asserted: “Blockchain and AI are leading the development of digital finance, improving efficiency, reducing costs, and promoting inclusive finance.”

Chan's statement reflects Hong Kong's efforts to integrate new technology into the financial system, while reinforcing its position as a leading digital financial center in the region. He also emphasized the importance of cross-border cooperation to promote sustainable innovation.
