Norway's encryption declarations surge by 30%: approximately 73,000 people declare over $4 billion in assets.

According to a report by Golden Finance, the latest announcement from the Norwegian Tax Administration states that more than 73,000 people declared their holdings in crypto assets for the year 2024, with a total exceeding 4 billion USD, reflecting a year-on-year rise of about 30%. Nina Schanke Funnemark, the tax director of the tax administration, stated that several measures taken in recent years have shown results, with more people declaring crypto assets as required to ensure correct taxation. Data shows that about 550 million USD of the declared assets were gains, while 290 million USD were losses. Norway plans to require exchanges and custodians to report crypto holdings information through third parties starting in 2026.
