On November 4, according to thestreet, Elon Musk quoted his own tweet from April 2021 “SpaceX will send a real Dogecoin to the real Moon” stating, “The time has come.” In 2021, after this tweet was published, the price of DOGE soared nearly 30% within minutes, demonstrating Musk's significant influence on this meme coin. A few weeks later, the SpaceX founder confirmed that the company would indeed launch the “DOGE 1 lunar mission,” which would accept DOGE payments. DOGE-1 is a CubeSat mission developed by the Canadian company Geometric Energy Corporation (GEC), fully paid for with Dogecoin. Its payload will be launched on SpaceX's Falcon 9 rocket, becoming the first space mission completely paid for with Crypto Assets. The launch of this mission has been delayed multiple times, but according to filings with the Federal Communications Commission, it is still planned to be executed by the end of 2025.
