Automakers' share in China NEV market in Jan: BYD leads with 15.8%, Tesla again falls out of top 10
In January, BYD maintained its leading position in China’s NEV market by retail sales with a 15.8% share, while Tesla dropped out of the top 10 again. Tesla’s January sales were its lowest since November 2022, partly due to increased exports, and its market share was significantly lower than its previous re-entries into the top 10. Geely followed closely behind BYD with a 15.5% market share, and Huawei’s HIMA secured third place with substantial year-on-year growth.
