Today it’s raining and the traffic is jammed again, clicking around on the ride-hailing app’s little circle for half a day… Suddenly I thought of the mempool. When you send a transaction, it’s basically throwing an “order” into a queue corridor. Usually, when there are few people, it’s fine; when it’s really congested, you can only watch as miners/packagers choose who to include first — basically, whoever offers a bigger fee or who’s more urgent. If you don’t increase the fee, it doesn’t necessarily fail; it just sits there, maybe getting included in the next block, or maybe waiting hundreds of blocks before they remember you.

Recently, Layer 2 is also arguing about TPS, fees, and subsidies — who’s stronger. I find it pretty chill: no matter how much they talk, during peak times, the queuing logic is pretty much the same. The system pushes forward those who are willing to pay more or who have more value. Anyway, I now check the congestion situation before placing an order, so I don’t get carried away emotionally chasing after it. The coffee’s already cold, and there’s no need to rush the transaction to be confirmed.
