Hopfield of Princeton University and Geoffrey E. Hinton of the University of Toronto in Canada, in recognition of their “fundamental discoveries and inventions in using artificial neural networks for machine learning.” The two winners will split a prize of 11 million Swedish kronor (approximately 7.45 million yuan). Geoffrey Hinton, the 2018 Turing Award winner, is hailed as a giant in Depth learning and the father of AI in the industry. Ilya Sutskever, former chief scientist of ChatGPT, was a student of Geoffrey Hinton.
