How to Change Your Nickname & Avatar

Nickname Rules

1. One change only within 24 hrs.
2. Do not use your real name or contact info (protect privacy).
3. Nickname must comply with local laws/regulations.
4. Maximum 12 Chinese characters or 24 alphanumeric characters. Special characters are not supported.

Avatar Notice

1. Only supports JPG, PNG, and GIF formats.
2. Do not use selfies or other real images (protect privacy).
3. Avatar must comply with local laws/regulations.
4. You can select a photo from your album or take a new one.

If the above rules are violated, Gate may modify, mute, or block your account.

How to Change Nickname & Avatar on App

Step 1: Open the Edit Page
Open the Gate App and log in to your account. Tap the 【Avatar】 at the top left corner, then tap the arrow next to your profile picture to enter the 【User Center】.

Step 2: Change Avatar
In the 【User Center】, tap the 【Edit】 icon below the avatar to modify it. You can choose an NFT or upload an image as your avatar.

Step 3: Change Nickname
Tap 【Nickname】 to enter the 【Nickname Settings】 page, edit your nickname, and tap 【Confirm】 to save changes.

Alternatively, you can also modify your nickname and avatar on the 【Personal Page】.

On the 【Personal Page】, tap the 【Edit】 button next to your avatar to enter 【Profile Information】. Then tap 【Nickname】 to modify your nickname or tap the 【Camera】 icon on your avatar to change your profile picture.
