Andre Cronje questions the resource allocation of the Ethereum Foundation as developer concerns grow.
[Coin World] Sonic co-founder Andre Cronje expressed concerns about the resource allocation of the Ethereum Foundation. Cronje shared his dissatisfaction, questioning the Foundation's support and funding decisions. He revealed that during the development of Ethereum, he spent over 700 ETH on deployment and infrastructure, yet received no assistance or response from the Foundation. Cronje criticized the Ethereum Foundation for its lack of business connections, funding, and even for not receiving any recognition.
Cronje's comments are a response to a post by Sandeep Nailwal, the founder and CEO of Polygon, who also questioned the priority of support from the foundation. Nailwal's concerns are echoed by Péter Szilágyi, an Ethereum core developer and Geth client maintainer, who had previously criticized the internal compensation and governance structure of the Ethereum Foundation and expressed disappointment with the organization.
These criticisms highlight the growing concerns among developers and supporters about the transparency and effectiveness of the Ethereum Foundation's resource allocation. The Foundation's support for core developers and notable Layer 2 supporters, such as Sandeep and Polygon, has come under scrutiny, raising questions about the direction of the Foundation's resources.
