Blockstream steps in to acquire traditional hedge funds to offer institutional players a "dual cultivation" strategy

【Chain News】The crypto space is buzzing again—Blockstream Capital Partners announced yesterday that they will acquire Corbiere Capital Management, a hedge fund.

The latter is no unknown player; although founded only in 2023 in Jersey, founder Rodrigo Rodriguez has solid experience in stock hedge strategies. The acquisition amount was not disclosed, but it seems significant: Blockstream plans to integrate their stock strategies and event-driven approaches into their Bitcoin product line, creating a “traditional + crypto” combo for institutional clients.

The key personnel change is Rodriguez being promoted directly to Chief Investment Officer of the new entity, Blockstream Capital Management. In essence, it’s about blending Wall Street tactics with the crypto world to offer more options for large-scale investments.

This move is quite interesting—while traditional finance is increasingly focusing on digital assets, crypto institutions are now starting to adopt traditional strategies.
