BitBoy's Livestream Stunt Ends in Arrest Over Disputed Lamborghini
Crypto influencer Ben Armstrong, widely known as BitBoy, found himself in custody after a dramatic livestreamed confrontation outside the residence of former business associate Carlos Diaz. On September 25, local authorities booked Benjamin Charles Armstrong into Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office in Georgia at 9:11 pm, where he remains detained.
The Livestream Incident
Armstrong had announced via social media that he would be going live from an undisclosed “special location.” What followed was a contentious 37-minute broadcast where he positioned himself on Diaz’s property, claiming the consultant and NFT investor possessed his Lamborghini. During the stream, Armstrong made aggressive allegations, accusing Diaz of harboring intentions to harm him and suggesting connections to organized crime figures.
The tone escalated throughout the transmission, with Armstrong loudly declaring his defiance toward Diaz, turning what began as a property dispute into a public spectacle that drew attention from the broader crypto community.
Police Intervention
Approximately 19 minutes into the livestream, local law enforcement arrived at the scene. Officers questioned Armstrong about whether he was carrying any weapons—which he denied—and instructed him to cease recording. The remaining 18 minutes of the session devolved into audio-only conversation between Armstrong and police, with the video feed cut off.
On the following day, Diaz confirmed the incident had indeed occurred at his residence, documenting the unexpected visit.
Community Reaction and Context
The arrest generated significant commentary within crypto circles. Blockchain analyst ZachXBT seized the moment to express satisfaction, stating that “one of the most notorious bad actors in crypto” was finally facing consequences. This sentiment reflected broader frustration with Armstrong within the community.
The incident compounds existing controversies. In late August, Hit Network—the organization controlling the BitBoy Crypto brand—severed its relationship with Armstrong, citing concerns about substance abuse and financial harm to staff members. Following the separation, multiple lawsuits emerged between parties involved, and Armstrong subsequently launched a fundraising appeal for legal defense on September 20.
The Lamborghini dispute represents yet another chapter in Armstrong’s increasingly turbulent public standing within the cryptocurrency space.
