I've always felt that BitTorrent is ridiculously low-key within the TRON ecosystem, neither riding the wave of new concepts nor engaging in flashy narratives, but it is a solid cornerstone of the ecosystem.
A set of data from 2025 clearly shows its strength: the total number of addresses surpasses 539 million, with a net increase of over 56.9 million in one year. User activity remains stable and widely distributed, which are all characteristics of a foundational infrastructure-level network. More importantly, it is no longer the download tool everyone once thought of; it has evolved into a global distributed network, taking on the fundamental role of AI computing and data distribution, perfectly solving the efficiency bottleneck caused by centralization.
Looking at its two core sectors, performance is equally impressive. BTTC's cross-chain transaction volume for the year exceeded $1.63 billion, completing 10,518 transactions, strengthening the cross-chain moat with speed, stability, and liquidity; BTFS's annual peak data is even more astonishing, with over 800+ PB of total storage, 2 million+ global host nodes, 196 million+ storage contracts, and consuming over 8.3 billion BTT Gas, firmly establishing itself as the global data storage layer for the AI era.
In my opinion, BitTorrent's confidence has never come from hype but from the inertia and strength of the network itself. It may not be the most lively project in the TRON ecosystem, but it is definitely the hardest to replace.
