Walrus WAL is a crypto project built around a new kind of decentralized data storage system that runs on the Sui blockchain and aims to change how large files and data are stored and shared online without relying on a central company or service

In simple words Walrus lets developers and users store big data like videos images or AI datasets in a secure way that can be verified and trusted without wasting huge amounts of money on fees

The native token in this system is called WAL and it has a fixed total of five billion tokens with a part of them already in circulation and available for trading on different exchanges

You use WAL to pay for storage to stake and help secure the network and to take part in decisions about how the protocol grows and changes

Some of the WAL tokens were given out to early users and community members in airdrops and there are plans for ongoing incentives to bring more people into the ecosystem

By splitting data into many pieces and spreading them across a network of computers Walrus keeps files safe even if some parts go offline and this design helps make storage cheaper and more reliable

The project has gained attention because it looks to support future uses like AI data storage and decentralized websites while giving token holders real roles in the system through staking and governance

Overall Walrus WAL tries to build a practical tool for the next generation of internet applications while also growing a community around its token and technology
