The system poses a notable threat of bringing significant thunderstorms and scattered rains across the MIMAROPA Region and Western Visayas in the coming 24 hours.

Current Track and Near-Term Outlook

The former cyclone’s evolution presents two potential pathways: it may regain strength and redevelop into Tropical Depression Wilma, though meteorologists assess this as a medium-probability scenario. More probable is a complete dissipation of the system. Regardless of which track materializes, affected residents should prepare for moderate to heavy rainfall, with corresponding risks of flash floods and landslides across the western visayas map region and adjacent areas.

Nationwide Weather Systems at Play

Beyond Wilma’s localized impact, PAGASA indicates that multiple weather phenomena will influence the archipelago. The northeast monsoon is expected to dominate conditions over Metro Manila, CALABARZON, and Northern and Central Luzon, bringing cloudy skies accompanied by rain. Meanwhile, a shear line—a transitional atmospheric boundary where contrasting wind systems converge—will generate scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms over substantial portions of Luzon.
