If you are a member of the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS), having a valid rights certificate is essential to confirm your active status with the institution. This certificate verifies that your membership is current and that you can access the entire network of medical services available at the care units without restrictions.

The good news is that you no longer need to wait in line or go to a Family Medicine Unit to obtain it. IMSS Digital allows you to manage this process entirely remotely, from any device with an internet connection.

Request your certificate through the IMSS Digital app

The first option is to use the mobile app, available on both iOS and Android. The process is straightforward:

1. Download the IMSS Digital app on your phone
2. Complete the registration by entering your CURP and a valid email address
3. Find the “Vigencia de derechos” section in the main menu
4. Check your status to confirm that your coverage is still active
5. Request the document by selecting “Send to your email”

Within a few minutes, you will receive the certificate in your inbox, ready to download or print as needed.

Manage your certificate via the web

If you prefer a computer browser or simply do not want to download apps, accessing the website is just as efficient. The procedure requires:

1. Enter your CURP
2. Provide your social security number (NSS)
3. Indicate a functional email address

After these steps, the system will send your certificate directly to the specified inbox. From there, you can save it to your computer or mobile device.

Important details about your certificate

A crucial aspect is that the validity certificate is only valid on the day of issuance. This means that if you need it for a subsequent procedure, you will need to generate a new copy. There is no cost associated with the process: it is completely free.

It is also possible for another person to manage your document on your behalf, as long as they have access to your NSS and a valid email address. This flexibility allows you to delegate management if needed.
