AI Agent and Doctor: Anthropic Releases New Versions of Claude - ForkLog: Cryptocurrencies, AI, Singularity, Future
Anthropic has developed a new tool called Cowork, which is positioned as a more accessible version of Claude Code.
The service is integrated into the Claude Desktop application. It allows specifying a particular folder where the bot can read or modify files. Further instructions can be provided through the standard chat interface.
The service resembles an isolated version of Claude Code but requires much less technical knowledge to set up.
Cowork is built on the Claude Agent SDK. It uses the same underlying model as Claude Code.
Folder separation makes it easy to manage files that the new tool has access to. Since the application does not require command line or virtual environment, it is less complex for users without technical expertise.
Initially, Cowork is available to Max subscribers. A waiting list has been launched for users on other plans.
The service opens a “new world of potential use cases.” Anthropic provided an example of creating an expense report from a folder containing receipt photos. Claude Code users apply the system to manage media files, scan social media posts, or analyze conversations.
Cowork is designed to perform a range of actions without user intervention. This carries certain risks if the tool receives unclear or contradictory instructions.
Anthropic warned about the possibility of sudden command inputs or file deletions. The company recommends using clear and unambiguous prompts.
Launched in November 2024, Claude Code has become one of the company’s most successful products. It allows using the Claude AI model directly within the development process, rather than as a side chat.
Medicine
Following the launch of ChatGPT Health by OpenAI, Anthropic announced Claude for Healthcare — a set of tools for healthcare providers and patients.
The service allows syncing health data from smartphones, smartwatches, and other platforms. It can:
Anthropic added “connectors” that enable AI access to platforms and databases to accelerate research and report generation.
For them, submitting documents is more of an administrative task than something requiring special training and experience. Therefore, the process should be automated, the AI company believes.
People are increasingly relying on LLMs for medical questions. OpenAI reported that 230 million people discuss health with ChatGPT weekly.
Recall that in September 2025, researchers from Harvard Medical School presented an AI model capable of identifying precise gene and drug combinations to reverse pathological states in human cells.
