The oil tanker was hit and began sinking, leading to the closure of the Strait of Hormuz.

A reporter from the main station learned that on March 1 local time, an oil tanker attempting to pass through the Strait of Hormuz was hit and began to sink. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of Iran announced on the evening of February 28 that no ships are allowed to pass through the Strait of Hormuz. Reports indicate that with the cessation of traffic of oil tankers and other ships through the strait, it has effectively been closed. (CCTV News)
