According to a CCTV reporter, on March 1st local time, an oil tanker attempting to pass through the Strait of Hormuz was hit and began to sink. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of Iran announced on the evening of February 28th that no ships are allowed to pass through the Strait of Hormuz. Reports indicate that with the cessation of traffic of oil tankers and other ships through the Strait of Hormuz, the strait has effectively been closed.
