On the 12th, the General Administration of Customs announced at a press conference that by the end of 2025, China will have a total of 6,876 AEO-certified enterprises. Although they account for only 1% of the import and export performance enterprises, they contribute nearly 40% of the country’s trade volume, and the “value” of the AEO system is increasingly recognized. Lin Jiantian, Director of the Enterprise Management and Inspection Department of the General Administration of Customs, stated at the press conference that China Customs actively promotes international AEO mutual recognition cooperation. Since signing the first mutual recognition agreement in 2012, China has signed AEO mutual recognition agreements with 32 economies, covering 58 countries (regions), and has officially implemented mutual recognition with 52 of these countries (regions). China Customs leads the world in the number of AEO mutual recognition agreements signed, the number of countries (regions) involved, and the number of mutual recognition implementations.
