X's ban on paid cryptocurrency promotions is not a new regulation and has been in effect since 2024.
ChainCatcher message, according to the web archive site Archive, shows that “X’s latest ‘Paid Partnership Policy’ issued by X” is old news. Historical web pages indicate that since at least June 27, 2024, cryptocurrencies have been classified by the X platform as an industry “not eligible for paid partnership promotion.”
