People’s Financial News, March 5 — On March 5, Shen Danyang, head of the drafting team for the Government Work Report and director of the State Council Research Office, stated at a briefing by the State Council Information Office that the Government Work Report focuses on improving educational equity and quality, and makes arrangements for education at all levels and types. For example, regarding preschool education, this year will continue to implement the policy of one year of free preschool education, commonly known as free enrollment for kindergarten large classes. The revenue loss from this will be compensated by central and local government finances, with the central government bearing the majority of the cost. This year, funding support for preschool education development has increased significantly by 37.8%.
