Globe Life settles for $4.66 million over 2024 data breach claims

Globe Life Inc. and American Income Life Insurance Co. have agreed to a $4.66 million settlement to resolve a class action lawsuit stemming from a 2024 data breach. The plaintiffs alleged that the companies failed to adequately protect personal information, leading to the exposure of data for over 530,000 individuals. The settlement includes up to $3.4 million in cash payments for class members and an additional $1.26 million for attorneys’ fees, offering compensation for documented losses, lost time, and two years of credit monitoring.
