Member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference Zhu Tongyu: Medical staff's compensation should not be directly linked to revenue generation

Gelonghui March 5 | Zhu Tongyu, a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and Vice President of Shanghai Medical College, Fudan University, stated that medical staff salaries should not be directly linked to revenue generation. He called for the establishment of a comprehensive salary evaluation system. Zhu Tongyu said that if doctors’ labor is tied to revenue, it may lead to distorted medical practices, such as over-treatment, which could ultimately harm patients’ interests.
