Half of Monthly Salary Goes to Childcare? How Can Childcare Services Support Fertility Intentions | "China Childcare Report 2025"
In 2026, the National Two Sessions are expected to pass the “Childcare Services Law.” The law aims to promote and regulate the development of childcare services, providing a solid legal guarantee for children under three years old. It is an important measure to improve fertility support policies, reduce family育育 costs, and build a fertility-friendly society.
The “China Childcare Report 2025” (hereinafter referred to as “this report”) was published by the Yuwa Population Think Tank in December 2025. The project was led by Liang Jianzhang and Huang Wenzheng, with research team members including Zou Jiacen, Ding Wenjie, Gu Yihan, Du Zhenbang, and He Yafu.
Yuwa Population Think Tank hopes to present a comprehensive picture of China’s childcare development through this report, starting from the definition, classification, demand, and supply status of childcare. By exploring foreign experiences and examining domestic practices, the report aims to provide policy recommendations for childcare.
