PG&E announced its fifth electric rate drop since January 2024, effective March 1, 2026, lowering residential bundled electric rates by 13% compared to January 2024. This decrease includes a 1.8% reduction for most residential customers and an 8.3% decrease for CARE customers, alongside the introduction of a new Base Services Charge designed to make bills clearer and shift costs from low-income customers. While electric prices are decreasing, natural gas rates experienced a slight increase of 0.3% due to the recovery of authorized costs for safety and emergency response work.
