Pinduoduo's "Hundred Billion Support" Fully Upgrades to "2026 Duo Duo Quality Specialties," Aiming to Improve and Boost the Quality and Efficiency of the Agricultural Product Supply Chain
Recently, Pinduoduo announced the official upgrade of the “2026 Duoduo Specialty Products” initiative, relying on the “Hundred Billion Support” program to increase investment in the agricultural product supply chain, promote the full industry development and upgrading of specialty agriculture, increase farmers’ income and profits in agricultural regions, and further drive the sustainable development of the specialty agriculture industry.
In April 2025, Pinduoduo launched the “Hundred Billion Support” with the “2025 Duoduo Specialty Products” initiative, increasing support for fruits, vegetables, seafood, and other specialty products. Over the past year, the dedicated team has visited hundreds of agricultural regions, deeply integrating with local farming and animal husbandry industries, actively exploring new models for agricultural product sales, and helping to increase the added value of the industry.
It is understood that the upgrade of “2026 Duoduo Specialty Products” focuses on empowering the entire agricultural industry. The platform will extend from supporting agricultural products to optimizing cold chain logistics, deep processing, ecological construction, and other upstream and downstream industry chain activities. “During the past year, we found that some agricultural regions face bottlenecks such as single product offerings, low efficiency in upstream sales, and lack of branding despite good quality. We hope that through the upgrade and increased investment in ‘2026 Duoduo Specialty Products,’ we can improve the quality and efficiency of the agricultural supply chain and help agricultural regions achieve high-quality transformation toward quality and branded agriculture,” said the person in charge of the “2026 Duoduo Specialty Products” initiative.
With the official launch of “2026 Duoduo Specialty Products,” Pinduoduo will initiate a new round of special actions, starting with visits to Guizhou Tongren, Qingdao in Shandong, Nanning in Guangxi, and other locations. These efforts will include customized training and resource matching in areas such as improving agricultural product quality, expanding specialty products, and building brands to enhance the value chain of agriculture.
Increasing support for the agricultural supply chain, with merchants experiencing nearly 20% sales growth
In recent years, a tropical subtropical fruit has become a top trend in early spring. Due to its shape resembling the head of Buddha Shakyamuni, it is called “Shijia fruit.” Its white, dense flesh has earned it the nickname “Ice Cream on the Tree.” “Shijia fruit is common in Guangdong, Guangxi, and Fujian, but because it’s difficult to preserve, traditional sales methods have limited its reach,” said Zhu Zhiyuan, a new farmer from Bobaixian, Yulin, Guangxi.
In 2020, Zhu Zhiyuan tried selling Shijia fruit on Pinduoduo. To his surprise, with platform support, sales grew rapidly. By 2021, his store’s orders had doubled, attracting repeat customers from Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shanghai, Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, and other regions. This success boosted Zhu Zhiyuan’s confidence in cultivating high-quality fruits for the long term.
Last year, during the Shijia fruit flowering season, on the advice of the “2025 Duoduo Specialty Products” team, Zhu Zhiyuan collaborated with local farmers to optimize cultivation and quality control throughout the process. “We don’t ship cold storage fruits; each batch must be fresh seasonal fruit. Also, Shijia fruit is prone to幻虫 (a type of pest), so quality control from the source is very important,” Zhu Zhiyuan explained. Through protective measures during flowering, bagging during fruiting, machine-based sugar content sorting, and manual screening, his store’s Shijia fruit sales soared again this year, with an average of over 5,000 orders per day.
According to the person in charge of the “2026 Duoduo Specialty Products” initiative, improving the quality and efficiency of the supply chain is a key focus this year. Pinduoduo will deepen efforts across major agricultural regions nationwide, starting from standardization, processing, packaging, storage, and transportation to comprehensively enhance the quality and resilience of the platform’s agricultural supply chain.
Liu Linghui’s brand “Xian Chi” covers multiple fresh categories, including seafood like Qingdao prawns, hairtail, and salmon, as well as meat products such as lamb shank and beef slices, and deep-processed products like grilled prawns and shrimp cakes. Earlier this year, following advice from the “2026 Duoduo Specialty Products” team, Liu began optimizing warehouse and distribution planning.
“Previously, most of our products were distributed from warehouses across the country. Now, relying on platform data, we’re trying to allocate inventory based on regional preferences, greatly improving warehouse efficiency,” Liu said.
Additionally, leveraging Pinduoduo’s big data, Liu has optimized warehouse and distribution routes, significantly reducing fulfillment times. “For example, when a customer in Shandong places an order, the system used to default to shipping from Shandong warehouses. But some areas in Shandong are closer to Tianjin warehouses, making logistics more convenient. After optimizing the warehouse allocation, our delivery times have noticeably improved, with most deliveries in nearby areas achieved the next day,” Liu explained. The shortened delivery times have driven nearly 20% growth in orders. With strategic warehouse layouts, next-day delivery now covers major sales regions such as Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, Jiangsu-Zhejiang-Shanghai, Anhui-Jiangsu-Hunan, Shandong, Guangdong, and Heilongjiang.
According to the person in charge of the “2026 Duoduo Specialty Products” initiative, to enhance consumer experience with specialty products, the platform will integrate resources to optimize storage and transportation plans, fully improving fulfillment efficiency. “During the logistics optimization process, we will provide a backup policy for merchants: as long as they ship according to the rules, if there are orders that cannot be delivered on time during the warehouse and logistics optimization period, the platform will compensate consumers.”
A new round of special initiatives is about to begin, with multiple measures to upgrade local specialties
Over the past year, “Duoduo Specialty Products” has explored hundreds of agricultural regions including Laiyang in Shandong, Puer in Yunnan, Wanning in Hainan, Zhoushan in Zhejiang, Chengdu in Sichuan, Yinchuan in Ningxia, and Dalian in Liaoning. The platform has uncovered regional specialty advantages and supported industry value addition through standardization of primary agricultural products and development of deep-processed products.
The person in charge of the “2026 Duoduo Specialty Products” initiative said that, building on the past year’s efforts to promote agricultural product sales, this year the focus will remain on upgrading local specialties. Beyond improving the supply chain, the initiative will extend into industry development and brand building, empowering the entire agricultural industry chain and promoting integration of primary, secondary, and tertiary industries in agricultural regions.
In terms of industry extension, “Duoduo Specialty Products” will leverage big data to capture and anticipate new consumption trends and hotspots, explore new sales formats for agricultural products, and expand from primary products to initial processing and deep processing, thereby increasing industry added value.
“Even the most familiar apples have unlimited potential. Recently, apple water became a viral trend online. The platform partnered with merchants to launch products like dried apples and apple flower tea, which are very popular with consumers. We aim to diversify sales formats and broaden the market for agricultural products, telling new stories about local specialties,” said the person in charge.
In terms of brand building, Pinduoduo will use popular product creation and scene marketing to help quality merchants expand their visibility. Additionally, with resources like the Hundred Billion Subsidy, Black Label, and Selected Fresh, the platform will help merchants plan their brand development paths and establish flagship brands for local specialties.
“The next phase of regional research will soon begin. We will continue exploring new models and experiences for agricultural product sales, helping local specialties gain wider recognition, and promoting the integration of primary, secondary, and tertiary industries in these regions to share the benefits of industry growth with local farmers,” the person in charge concluded.
