Setting a world record, our country successfully developed a 35.6 Tesla full superconducting user magnet.

On the afternoon of March 29, the 2026 Zhongguancun Forum Annual Conference Major Achievements Release Conference was held, announcing multiple technological achievements. Among them, the “world’s highest magnetic field all-superconducting user magnet” was selected. In January of this year, the all-superconducting user magnet, jointly developed by the Institute of Electrical Engineering and the Institute of Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, successfully achieved a central magnetic field strength of 35.6 teslas. This is currently the highest record in the world in this field, marking that our country has reached an internationally advanced level in high-temperature superconducting applications, which will provide technical support for materials science, life sciences, nuclear fusion research, and more.
