On March 30, according to CBS News, Democratic Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, Jim Himes, accused President Trump’s remarks last week about negotiations with Iran amid market turmoil and ongoing conflict of being “an outright lie.” “Last Sunday, he realized there was a serious financial crisis in the markets, so he fabricated those remarks,” Himes stated during a program interview. Himes added, “The Iranians have now realized they have the upper hand. Gasoline prices have risen by more than $1 per gallon. They realized, ‘My goodness, we hold a huge bargaining chip.’” (Jenshi)
