On the 26th, U.S. President Trump once again threatened Iran regarding ceasefire negotiations, stating that Iran “better take the negotiations seriously as soon as possible, or it will be too late.” Trump posted on social media that Iran’s negotiating representatives are “strange,” saying, “they are ‘begging’ us to reach an agreement — which is what they should be doing, after all they have been completely defeated militarily with no chance of a comeback, yet they only publicly state they are ‘considering our proposal’.” Trump stated that Iran “better take things seriously soon, or it will be too late,” adding, “because once we reach that point, there will be no turning back, and it won’t be pretty.” On the 25th, Iran’s Press TV reported, citing a senior Iranian official, that Iran rejected the ceasefire proposal put forward by the United States and proposed five conditions for a ceasefire. The official stated that Iran would not agree to Trump’s timeline for ending the war, saying, “Iran will only end the war when it decides to do so and when its own conditions are met.” (Xinhua News Agency)
