Zheng Yongnian: If it aligns with China's "14th Five-Year Plan," it will definitely be possible to "make money."

China News Service, March 22 - (Huang Fang, Li Jinlei, Dai Yue) On March 22, during the China Development Forum 2026 annual meeting, Zheng Yongnian, Dean of the School of Public Policy at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen), stated in an interview that China’s development direction remains clear and determined. The “14th Five-Year Plan” not only provides directional guidance but also specifies concrete measures and implementation paths. Many large companies have achieved steady development in China by recognizing this point.

He vividly pointed out: “Those who align with China’s ‘Five-Year Plan’ are sure to make money; those who go against it are definitely not going to make money.”

Zheng Yongnian further stated that international capital should focus on aligning with the development plans of the host country to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes. Chinese enterprises “going global” should also follow the same logic, maintaining alignment with the development direction of co-building countries in the process of globalization to ensure stable and sustainable progress.
