On the 17th, the Jordanian government condemned Israel’s continued attacks on Lebanon and its ground operations in southern Lebanon. The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates issued a statement noting that Israel’s actions violate Lebanon’s sovereignty, contravene international law and humanitarian law, and threaten regional security and stability. The statement called for an immediate cessation of all Israeli military operations against Lebanon, the complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from Lebanese territory, and full implementation of all provisions of United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701 to ensure that Lebanese state institutions can fulfill their duties. Jordan reiterated its support for Lebanon’s security, stability, and sovereignty, and called on the international community to take action, urging Israel to comply with international law and humanitarian law to prevent the escalation of the conflict.
