Nabil Fahmy will serve as the new Secretary-General of the Arab League.

A source from the Arab League (AL) confirmed on March 29 local time that the AL Council of Foreign Ministers approved Egypt’s nomination that day, selecting former Egyptian Foreign Minister Nabil Fahmy to replace Ahmed Aboul Gheit as the new Secretary-General of the Arab League. Other reports indicate that Nabil Fahmy will officially assume the position starting July 1, 2026. (CCTV News)
