US media: A Russian oil tanker is granted clearance by the US to head to Cuba

People’s Finance News, March 30—According to a report by the U.S. New York Times, on March 29 the U.S. Coast Guard allowed a Russian oil tanker carrying a full load of crude oil to sail toward Cuban ports, avoiding a potential standoff between the United States and Russia. According to the report, the Russian oil tanker is carrying about 730,000 barrels of crude oil, and is expected to enter Cuban waters late on the 29th and arrive at its destination—Matanzas, Cuba—on the 31st. These crude oil shipments are expected to temporarily ease Cuba’s energy tensions. (Xinhua News Agency)
