The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Japanese Congressman Furuya Keiji has repeatedly visited Taiwan despite strong opposition from China, colluding with separatist forces for Taiwan independence. This seriously violates the “One China” principle and the spirit of the four political documents between China and Japan, brutally interfering in China’s internal affairs and seriously damaging China’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. In accordance with relevant regulations, China has decided to take countermeasures against Furuya Keiji.

The countermeasures will take effect from March 30 and include freezing his movable and immovable property and other types of assets within China; prohibiting organizations and individuals in China from engaging in transactions or cooperation with him; and denying him visa issuance and entry (including Hong Kong and Macau).
