Ark Invest Adds OpenAI Shares to Its Funds
On April 1, Bloomberg reported that Cathie Wood has added OpenAI to the ARKK, ARKF, and ARKW funds. Each fund is expected to hold approximately 3% of the shares, allowing retail investors to directly invest in one of the world’s hottest private companies. Ark Invest officially announced its holdings in OpenAI through its ARK Venture Fund (a private VC fund) in 2024 and has increased its stake multiple times, including a $250 million investment in October 2024.
