On March 11, the military strikes launched by the United States and Israel against Iran entered their 12th day. In a statement, the Israel Defense Forces said that earlier that day, the Israeli Air Force launched dozens of fighter jets to strike multiple targets, including the headquarters of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. Iran’s military authorities emphasized that Iran’s previous “reciprocal response” has ended, and from now on it will implement a “chain-strike” strategy. Meanwhile, rising tensions in the Middle East have caused shipping risks through the Strait of Hormuz to surge, and international oil prices have skyrocketed. In a statement issued on the 11th, the International Energy Agency said that 32 member countries reached unanimous agreement to release 400 million barrels of strategic oil reserves to address the global oil supply tightness triggered by the U.S. and Israel’s military strikes on Iran.
