Salesforce has rolled out a major AI upgrade for Slack, introducing 30+ new capabilities for its Slackbot agent. The key new features include reusable AI skills that can extract data from various channels within the company and automatically handle complex tasks such as creating budgets and scheduling meetings. Slackbot can also function as an MCP client to coordinate with external tools such as Salesforce’s Agentforce platform, transcribe and summarize meeting content, and provide proactive recommendations by monitoring desktop activity. CEO Marc Benioff emphasized that since Salesforce acquired Slack, the company’s revenue has grown 2.5x, and about 1 million businesses are already using Slack.
