卓创资讯:Pork prices continue to decline, Qingming stockpiling is expected to halt the decline and stabilize

After the Spring Festival, pork prices have maintained a downward slide. From the cost-and-input side, the supply pressure that was accumulated before the Spring Festival and needs to be released urgently. On the supply side, pork sources are abundant; slaughtering enterprises push down prices to buy pigs. From the demand side, after the Spring Festival, terminal consumption remains in a normal off-season; traffic at farmers’ markets and storefronts is weak, and the ability to absorb pork is limited. Taken together, supply is strong and demand is weak, and pork prices continue to face downward pressure.

As Qingming Day approaches—along with the end of the month and the beginning of the next—some breeding enterprises reduce the volume of their outbound sales. At the same time, preparations for Qingming provide some support. Slaughtering enterprises’ orders are expected to increase by about 3% in incremental terms. With supply decreasing and demand increasing, pork prices may be able to stop the decline and temporarily stabilize. (Zhuochuang Information)
