Min Liao, Minister of Finance, meets with Harvard University Professor Allison
On March 23, Li Yun, Vice Minister of Finance, met with Harvard University professor Allison in Beijing to engage in in-depth exchanges on China-U.S. economic and trade relations and regional hot-button issues. Li Yun said that guided by important consensus between the leaders of China and the United States, the two sides recently held a new round of economic and trade consultations in Paris, reached some new consensus, and will continue to keep in contact through consultations. Deepening economic and trade cooperation is beneficial for both countries and the world; on the basis of equality, respect, and mutual benefit, China is willing to consult with the U.S. to resolve relevant differences. Allison said that at present, world peace and security are facing serious challenges, and stabilizing U.S.-China relations is of great significance to the world. The economic and trade consultation mechanism has now become a key channel between the U.S. and China; the two sides should continue to maintain close communication and properly handle relevant sensitive issues.
