Claude's computer control features expanded to Windows, with full platform coverage one week after the macOS initial release.
According to 1M AI News monitoring, Anthropic announced that Claude’s computer use feature is now supported on Windows and is available in Claude Cowork and Claude Code Desktop. The feature launched on macOS on March 24 as a research preview, then expanded to Windows a week later, requiring a Pro or Max subscription.
The functionality is the same as the macOS version: Claude can directly open apps, operate the browser, and edit local files, without needing to configure an API key or a terminal environment—download the app to use it. When paired with the Dispatch feature, users can give tasks from their mobile devices, and Claude automatically completes the work on the PC. Claude will prioritize using dedicated connectors for services like Slack and Google Calendar, and only when there is no connector will it directly control the keyboard, mouse, and screen. Before performing actions, it will ask for the user’s permission.
