People’s Finance and News, April 1—On April 1, 2026, the Intermediate People’s Court of Xing’an League in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region held a public sentencing in the first instance and pronounced judgment in a case involving former Party Leadership Group deputy secretary and general manager of China Datang Group Co., Ltd., Kou Wei, for accepting bribes, accepting bribes through the use of influence, embezzlement, and dereliction of duty by personnel of a state-owned company in violation of his authority. In accordance with the law, he was sentenced to death for taking bribes, with a two-year suspension of execution, deprivation of political rights for life, and confiscation of all his personal property; he was sentenced to 12 years in prison for embezzlement, and fined RMB 3,000,000; he was sentenced to 8 years in prison for accepting bribes through the use of influence, and fined RMB 1,000,000; and he was sentenced to 4 years in prison for dereliction of duty by personnel of a state-owned company.
