April 3, according to Bloomberg, a container ship shown as being registered to France has sailed out of the Strait of Hormuz, which appears to be the first known vessel associated with Western Europe to pass through that waterway since the outbreak of war.

Based on vessel-tracking data, on Thursday afternoon local time, the “CMA CGM Kribi” departed from waters near Dubai, headed for Iran, and indicated that its shipowner is a French company. The vessel traveled close to Iran’s coastline, passed through the waterway between Qeshm Island and Larak Island, and broadcast its navigation information publicly. On Friday morning, its signal showed that the ship was located near Muscat. Two people familiar with the matter also confirmed that the vessel had passed through.
