South Korea's index hits the circuit breaker! The U.S. urges: American citizens to evacuate Iraq immediately

Asia-Pacific stock markets fall sharply.

After the afternoon session, the Korea Exchange launched the KOSPI index circuit breaker mechanism after the KOSPI 200 futures fell 5%, pausing automated trading for 5 minutes.

Japan’s TOPIX index’s decline widened to 1.7%.

Spot silver’s intraday drop widened to 6%, to $70.55 per ounce. Spot gold fell below $4,600 per ounce, down more than 3%.

WTI crude oil futures’ gain widened to 6%, to $106.144 per barrel.

On the 2nd, the U.S. Embassy in Iraq issued a security warning saying that Iraqi militia groups may carry out attacks in the center of Baghdad, Iraq’s capital, within the next 24 to 48 hours. The embassy urged U.S. citizens in Iraq to leave Iraq immediately.

U.S. President Trump delivered remarks, claiming on his own that he had achieved a “quick, decisive, overwhelming victory” in the war with Iran.
