【Caixin Net】 At the Boao Forum for Asia 2026 annual meeting, Singapore’s Prime Minister Lawrence Wong said that Singapore believes China will play a greater role in supporting Asia’s prosperity.

Wong made the above remarks at the plenary session of the Boao annual meeting held on March 26. In his view, China’s pivotal importance is reflected in many aspects, especially China’s vast domestic market, which will become a powerful engine for economic growth in the Asia region.

Wong further noted that China places technological innovation at the strategic core of national development and leads in key emerging fields such as digitalization and the green economy; more importantly, China is driving large-scale innovation, which means China not only participates in the next round of technological change, but is also committed to leading and shaping this new round of transformation.
