I just reviewed the rankings of the strongest currencies worldwide, and it’s interesting to see how they’re distributed. The Kuwaiti dinar remains the most powerful, followed by the Bahraini dinar and the Omani rial. It makes sense considering the economic stability of those countries.

What caught my attention is that the USD still remains quite solid in ninth place; the Swiss franc and the euro also hold up very well. But if you look at the 20 most important currencies in the world, you’ll see an interesting mix between developed economies and emerging markets with very conservative monetary policies.

From the Brazilian real to the Australian dollar, each one has its own context. The Canadian dollar, that of Singapur—these currencies all reflect the strength of their economies. It’s fascinating how the ranking of these 20 most important currencies changes according to global economic cycles. Definitely worth keeping an eye on if you’re watching international markets.
