I just saw that in a pretty large crypto theft case, the CEO of a major platform revealed that 88% of the $1.4 billion is still traceable. I mean, even if hackers use mixers like Wasabi and TornadoCash, they don't disappear that easily 🤔
What's interesting is that the funds started as Ethereum, moved through THORChain to Bitcoin, and only 3.54% have been frozen so far. That raises questions about how effective these mixers really are. The CEO is asking the community for help in tracking the transactions, even offering a 5% reward for useful info.
I don't know about you, but if 88% is still traceable, do hackers' efforts really matter that much? It seems like blockchain is more transparent than some people think. Is anyone following this case?
