DeepSeek's V4 model will be released in the coming weeks and will run on Huawei chips.
ME News message: April 4 (UTC+8) — DeepSeek’s new model V4 is expected to be released within the next few weeks, and will run on Huawei’s latest chips. The report, citing five people directly familiar with the matter, says Chinese tech giants, including Alibaba, ByteDance, and Tencent, have placed batch orders totaling tens of thousands of chips for Huawei’s chips that are about to be launched, in preparation for the release of V4. Two people close to the company say that in the past few months, DeepSeek has been working with Huawei and Cambricon Technology to assist with rewriting parts of the model’s underlying code and to conduct testing. DeepSeek is also developing two additional V4 derivative models; each has been optimized for different functions and is specifically designed to run on Chinese chips. Huawei and DeepSeek have not immediately responded to Reuters’ requests for comment sent outside of normal business hours. (Source: Foresight News)
