Stay away from convertible bonds that are due within a year and haven't collapsed yet

If it’s already crashed, you can gamble a small amount, or bet on the next leg of recovery, or bet that they’ll pay you back. Those that haven’t crashed yet should get out fast—ideally, you break even. The return at maturity is also negative. Holding it now is basically just a greater-fool scheme.
