People’s Finance News, April 5—According to the U.S. side on April 4, the U.S. military has ordered the transfer of “extended-range joint air-to-surface standoff missiles” from multiple regions worldwide for military operations against Iran. Most of the inventories of these stealth cruise missiles will be deployed to the Middle East battlefield. A military observer with China Central Television, Wei Dongxu, said that the U.S. military has urgently dispatched JASSM-ER to the Middle East, indicating that the White House and the Pentagon had previously misjudged the situation of the fighting in the Middle East. First, the U.S. military did not take into account that high-intensity operations in the Middle East could last for a long time, so the air combat forces had already run into a serious shortage of ammunition. Second, because the U.S. military is globally deployed, if it wants to concentrate the use of a cruise missile within relevant areas, it needs a longer cycle, so the entire redeployment process is also relatively long. For a period of time, the intensity of the U.S. airstrikes against Iran will definitely weaken. This shows that the current system for global force redeployment—i.e., the ammunition allocation system—cannot cover every aspect for high-intensity combat operations. Even sometimes, the fighter aircraft deployed at the front line may also experience situations where they are waiting for ammunition and for air-launched cruise missiles before they can carry out more missions.
