ME News update. On April 5 (UTC+8), Odaily Planet Daily reported that the U.S. Air Force Special Operations Command said that the MC-130J aircraft that played a role in an operation in Iran to rescue the crew of a downed U.S. F-15E had a unit cost of more than $100 million each. The aircraft is designed to deploy troops into hostile areas and carry out evacuations, has in-flight refueling capability, and is equipped with advanced sensors for defense against air-defense interception, including a heat-tracking system. A U.S. official said that during the rescue operation, the U.S. military destroyed two MC-130J aircraft. U.S. officials did not specify the reasons these aircraft ran into problems. A senior Iranian official released photos showing the burned wreckage of at least one aircraft. Iranian Parliament Speaker Ghalibaf posted on social media, saying: “If the United States achieves three more such ‘victories,’ it will be completely destroyed.” (Source: ODAILY)
