Trump: The second pilot of the downed aircraft has been rescued

Xinhua News Agency reports that on April 4, U.S. President Trump said that the U.S. military had rescued the second pilot from the F-15E fighter aircraft that was shot down over Iran.

On social media, Trump said that over the past several hours, the U.S. military carried out “one of the boldest search-and-rescue operations in U.S. history,” and found the second pilot. This pilot is “safe and sound.”

Trump said that the U.S. military had been monitoring the pilot’s location and had “carefully planned a rescue operation.”

Per his order, the U.S. military deployed dozens of “aircraft and helicopters carrying the deadliest weapons in the world” to go rescue him.

“He (the pilot) was injured, but he will recover.”

Trump also confirmed that the first pilot aboard the downed F-15E fighter aircraft had been rescued, but that he had not confirmed it earlier because he did not want to jeopardize the second rescue operation.

Trump also claimed that there were no American casualties in the two rescue operations.
