Xinhua News Agency, Washington, April 5—U.S. President Trump again demanded on April 5 that Iran open the Strait of Hormuz and warned that if it did not, Iran would “live in hell.”

Trump posted on social media saying, “April 7 will be Iran’s power-plant day and bridge day,” implying that Iran’s power plants and bridges would be hit with a massive bombardment. He also said: “Open that damned strait, or you will live in hell—just wait and see!”

On April 4, Trump posted on social media, calling on Iran to “reach an agreement” or “open the Strait of Hormuz” before April 6, and threatened that “time is running out—only 48 hours remain before all disasters fall on their heads.” Iran’s Armed Forces Headquarters of the Central Command Commander, Abdollahai, issued a response the same day, emphasizing that Iran’s military would firmly defend national rights and protect national assets, and make the aggressors pay.
